Practical Bookkeeping Course
Many bookkeepers struggle to obtain employment. Their lack of practical bookkeeping experience can even hamper their ability to have their own clients.
This intensive five-day course will take students through all aspects of hands-on bookkeeping including: understanding the documents needed to start a set of books, sorting them, and communicating with clients/employers. Over the five days participants will gain full-cycle bookkeeping experience by setting-up, recording, and reconciling transactions for two companies.
This course is designed for a broad range of students:
- Someone that has an academic background in bookkeeping and accounting principles but no, or limited hands-on experience
- People returning to the workforce after a lengthy absence
- New Canadians wanting to have exposure and understand Canadian bookkeeping practises
- Someone working as a bookkeeper for a company who needs to develop a better understanding of the bookkeeping process
The course offers a unique opportunity to work with and learn from two individuals who have more than fifty years of combined bookkeeping experience: Marilyn Henschel, the founder and president of HBS Inc. along with Victoria Peters, the firm’s manager of bookkeeping services. Both individuals hold professional accreditation.
At the end of this course you will receive a Certificate of Completion and course materials.
Perquisites: English language skills, basic knowledge of accounting theory, basic knowledge of QuickBooks or Sage 50 (Simply Accounting).
